SONA

PGMA delivered her SONA this afternoon. This year's speech was the shortest ever...and one could really see the factions within PGMA's government. 10 senators were absent, and the whole opposition bloc opted not to attend. But I think that it was better for them to be absent than to have pushed through with their plan to walk-out.

Drilon, the Senate President, never clapped once for PGMA, not even during the end of the speech, not even out of delicadeza. In return, PGMA never greeted him whereas she greeted Speaker Jose deVenecia twice!

Sen. Pia Cayetano was a standout in her blue terno. Add to that is the fact that she's tall, like a model.

The opposition bloc had plants that bloomed peach-colored flowers (peach, for impeach) while the administration bloc had calamansi plants (which looked very similar to the peach plants) courtesy of Cong. "Way Kurat" (no fear) Zamora.

It was the shortest SONA that drew the largest crowd of rallyists along Commonwealth Avenue.
